D. Layne Swofford, O.D. Buford

Raised in Norcross, Dr. Swofford attended Oxford College of Emory University. He also attended the University of Georgia where he received a B.S. degree in microbiology. His graduate work included study at the Emory School of Medicine in Epidemiology for the Masters of Public Health program prior to beginning optometry school. Dr. Swofford's Doctor of Optometry degree was received from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. After graduating, he entered private practice in North Atlanta.

Chip Rupured, Optician Buford

Native of the Atlanta area, Chip received a Bachelors Degree in Economics from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. Upon graduation Chip entered into a optical apprenticeship program which included the manufacture, fitting, and dispensing of optical goods. He has been with Eye Site for over 25 years.

Jason Gabrels, O.D. (Gainesville)

Dr. Jason Gabrels grew up in Norcross, Georgia. Graduating from Norcross High School. He went on to the University of Richmond where he graduated with honors. He earned his doctorate of optometry at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. He currently practices in Gainesville and Cumming, specializing in contact lenses and emergency care optometry.

Tyra Myers, O.D. (Buford)

Dr. Tyra Myers is a Board Certified Optometrist specializing in the diagnosis and management of ocular disease and co-management of postoperative refractive and cataract surgeries. Originally from Colby, Kansas, she obtained a Bachelors in Science Biology and Chemistry in 2005 from the University of South Alabama (USA) in Mobile, Alabama.   During her tenure at USA, Dr.Myers was a member of the South Alabama Symphonic Band and pep band playing French horn.

She earned her Doctorate in Optometry in 2009 from Nova Southeastern University (NSU), Fort Lauderdale, Florida. While at NSU, her clinical rotations at Aker Kaster Eye Center in Boca Raton, FL and Omni Eye Services of Atlanta focused on ocular disease and surgical management   Following graduation, Dr. Myers was selected for a clinical residency at Clayton Eye Center in Atlanta focusing on ocular disease and surgical co-management.  During this residency, she collaborated along side ocular surgeons in the management of patients with retinal, cataract, glaucoma, oculoplastic, and various other ocular disprders.
Dr Myers is currently a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry specializing in anterior and posterior segment ocular disease.

Dr. Myers enjoys spending her personal time on the lake with her husband, Nathan, children  Mikey and Katie, and two crazy Labradors. She also enjoys kayaking, practicing her French Horn, glass etching, and taking care of her freshwater aquarium.
