D. Layne Swofford, O.D. (Buford)

Raised in Norcross, Dr. Swofford attended Oxford College of Emory University. He also attended the University of Georgia where he received a B.S. degree in microbiology. His graduate work included study at the Emory School of Medicine in Epidemiology for the Masters of Public Health program prior to beginning optometry school. Dr. Swofford's Doctor of Optometry degree was received from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. After graduating, he entered private practice in North Atlanta.



Chip Rupured, Optician (Buford)

Native of the Atlanta area, Chip received a Bachelors Degree in Economics from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. Upon graduation Chip entered into a optical apprenticeship program which included the manufacture, fitting, and dispensing of optical goods.



Elliott Brass, O.D. (Duluth)

Dr. Elliot J. Brass received his undergraduate education in the New York City University System. He did his postgraduate education at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, where he earned his Bachelor of Science and his Doctor of Optometry degrees. After graduation, he joined the United States Air Force and served as staff Optometrist at Wright Patterson Regional Air Force Hospital. After his Air Force service he moved to the North Atlanta area where he has been in private practice since 1972.



Tara L. Fowler, O.D. (Duluth & Buford)

Dr. Tara Fowler is the newest addition to our practice. Dr. Fowler is an Atlanta native, originally from Powder Springs. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition Science from the University of Georgia and her Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Dr. Fowler recently completed extensive residency training in ocular disease at Omni Eye Services of Atlanta. She is currently involved in Volunteer Optometric Services for Humanity as well as the American and Georgia Optometric Associations.



Jorie Kinnard, Optician (Duluth)

Jorie is a licensed optician of 35 years who enjoys her work and is extremely knowledgable about the newest technologies pertaining to frames, lenses and sunglasses. She looks foward to helping you select the right glasses for your needs.



Jason Gabrels, O.D. (Gainesville & Cumming)

Dr. Jason Gabrels grew up in Norcross, Georgia. Graduating from Norcross High School. He went on to the University of Richmond where he graduated with honors. He earned his doctorate of optometry at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. He currently practices in Gainesville and Cumming, specializing in contact lenses and emergency care optometry.



John Hollier, O.D. (Cumming)

Dr. Hollier graduated from Central Michigan University with a B.S. degree in biology. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry, earning an Armed Forces scholarship. He served three years as an optometry officer at Ft. McPherson, Georgia before entering private practice in North Georgia. He specializes in family practice and contact lenses.



Shannon Nance (Cumming)

Shannon is originally from Shreveport, Louisiana. She moved to Florida in 1993 where she entered into an optical apprenticeship program. Shannon has 16 years of experience in the optical industry. She moved to Cumming, Georgia in 1997. Shannon is very knowledgeable in all of the latest frame and lens designs. Shannon loves what she does and will be happy to help you with any of your optical needs.



Duluth Office
